Local-Level election on scheduled date: State Minister Gurung

 Minister of State for Health, Taraman Gurung, has said that the local-level election would be held as scheduled.
At a seminar organised by the Democratic Thought Society, Chitwan, here today, State Minister Gurung said, "The local-level election would be held on May 14 as the government has made all the preparations for the same."
He said that the local-level election was indispensable to institutionalize the democracy. Gurung, also a NC leader, urged his party leaders and cadres to ensure victory of the NC in the upcoming election. "All leaders and cadres should move ahead together as the election was competition with external forces not an internal competition". 
State Minister Gurung expressed the view that the victory of the NC would be ensured only if internal conflict within the party was settled.
Saying the victory of the NC was necessary to institutionalize the democracy, NC Chitwan President Jit Narayan Shrestha, Central President of Nepal Women's Association, Uma Regmi, among others said that the NC should take leadership from local-level to central-level for the implementation of the constitution.
Former Central Secretary of the Society, Dr Keshav Bhakta Sapkota, presented a working paper on institutional development of democracy and local-level election.
