DPM Thapa confident of country making big stride post local level poll

Hetauda, March 26: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Kamal Thapa has expressed his confidence that the country would take a giant leap once the long overdue local level election is held on May 14 this year.
Addressing at a gathering of the chiefs of the government bodies in Makawanpur district including the Chief District Officer (CDO) and Local Development Officer (LDO) among others Sunday, DPM Thapa urged all the civil servants for their contribution to make the upcoming election free, fair and impartial.
On the occasion, CDO Narayan Prasad Duwadi shared that necessary preparations were undertaken for the management of human resources and ensure safety and security in the district in view of the election.
Similarly, LDO Narayan Prasad Mainali stated that the district having 8 rural municipalities, one municipality and one sub-metropolitan city lacks adequate human resources for the election.
Meanwhile, DPM Thapa, at a programme held at the Makawanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry in honour of him, reaffirmed the government's commitment towards all three level of elections.
Thapa reassured that the incumbent government was serious towards Madhesh-centric political parties' participation in the upcoming election and an agreement would be made between them and the government following the Prime Minister's return from China.
He said that the development works and economic development would make a headway following the local election.
