Pashupatinath Temple Area


Pashupatinath Temple site is one of the holiest places for Hindus that is situated on the bank of Bagmati River in Kathmandu. The Pashupatinath temple has been designed in the pagoda style with golden pinnacle. The Pashupati area includes the temple of Pashupatinath, Deupatan, Jayabageswori, Gaurighat, Gaushala, Shleshmantak forest, Mrigasthali, Bankali etc. In addition, there are about 492 temples, chaityas, satals, shrines, statues etc. built in various designs. There about 1000 shivalingas in the Pashupati Area. The Pashupati Area Development Trust has been formed to preserve and promote the importance of this area.
