MEDICINE AND GENETIC RESEARCH: PROMISE AND PROBLEMS

When scientist identified genes connected with serious disease and birth defects, medicines has much benefit. After making some testes, doctors can tell their patients that their genes might transfer certain diseases to their children. In addition, if they are suffering from some serious disease like Huntington's disease, they decide not to have children, who who are expected to suffer from such diseases.
In the 1990s, the possibility of of genetic medicine made many companies invest in such business     and researchers were helped by such investment. Researchers could successfully develop many testes for life-threatening diseases. For example, French doctors could restore immune deficiency of a child by introducing a normal gene into the child's bone marrow. However, some researchers exaggerated their achievements hid their weakness.
In fact, they had not become very successful. They would introduce tests without being properly careful, and sometimes it led to the patient's death. Actually, biological companies would force researchers to test earlier, so they had not become successful. The researchers naturally have to satisfy their financiers. Now the researchers have realized their mistakes. And they are careful not to make haste earlier.
