CORRUPTION
Corruption is one of the social problems prevailing in our
society, which refers to the illegal and unauthorized use of power and abuse of
authority to attain some personal benefits of the citizen and the country. The act
of taking money or precious things in the form of commission, gift, donation
etc. is the corruption. It harmfully effects on individual, society, and
country as a whole.
Some causes of corruption
1) Due to political
conflict, people are easily involving in corruption.
2) People in high post are misusing their
power and authority by doing whatever they want.
3) Lack of monitoring and evaluation
of works undertaken by the government.
4) Lack of transparency as government officers and other
people hide the exact data from others.
5) Lack of accountability and responsibilities in the rulers
of the country.
6) Lack of awareness in people.
7) The circle of corrupted people is strongly chained.
Some effects of corruption
1) The government people lose the faith of a people in the
country.
2) People do not follow laws, rules and regulations, which
lead to violence 3) conflict and disagreement in the country.
4) International image of the country sinks.
5) The donor countries hesitate to give supports for economic
and social 6) programs, which hinders the physicals, social, economic
development of the nation.
7) Poor and socio-economically disadvantaged people do not
get fair treatment including justice because they cannot afford bribe to them.
8) People tend to solve their problems by paying undue money
even for fair and legal work so the poor and backward people do not get service
in time.
Solutions for corruption
1) The government officer and other people should show the
correct data and do their duty in front of all people according to their will
and satisfaction.
2) The CIAA must be very active for cross checking in the officials'
activities and should take immediate action if found misuse of authority.
3) Severe punishment should be given for those who commit
corruption.
3) People should take the habit of simple living high
thinking and should quit luxurious life style.
4) There should be active participation of civil society,
news, Medias and individuals against corruption.
5) There should be strong plans and policy and should
encourage public to launch complain if they are forced to get involved in the
corruption.
6) Media should be active to play a vital role to eradicate
corruption by broadcasting news and programmes related to corruption.
